Responsibilities:
Install, test, and maintain low voltage systems in commercial buildings, including structured cabling, fiber optics, security systems, fire alarms, access control, and audiovisual equipment.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan and execute installations according to project requirements.
Mount and terminate low voltage equipment, including racks, cabinets, patch panels, and connectors.
Install and configure network switches, routers, and wireless access points.
Conduct cable pulls, routing, and dressing in a neat and organized manner.
Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while working on construction sites and other commercial environments.
Maintain accurate documentation of installed systems, including as-built drawings, test reports, and equipment records.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial low voltage installations.
In-depth knowledge of low voltage systems, including structured cabling, fiber optics, security systems, fire alarms, access control, and audiovisual equipment.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and NEC.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Certification or training in low voltage systems installation.
Experience with commercial construction projects.
Knowledge of energy management systems and building automation.
Proficiency in using testing equipment, such as cable testers and OTDRs.
